The Bunnings Winter Bargain

Bunnings Bargain-bin find: Out-of-Season Water Toy.

I walked into Bunnings trying so hard to stay strong against adding to Monte’s toy collection.

But a quick detour past the bargain bin proved I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to my fur baby.
Tucked away at the bottom was a soft, round water toy marked down to a ridiculous $2.50. Given we are heading straight into winter, it was clearly on clearance for a reason.
But Monte doesn’t care about seasons, and frankly, neither did I…

Why it’s winning:

  • The Squeak Factor: It passed the ultimate test, – it includes a squeaker, which is a Monte non-negotiable.
  • House-Friendly: Because it was designed for the water, it is soft and lightweight. When it gets hurled across the room, it is gentle on the furniture and walls.
  • The Solo Air-Catch: Something about the round shape makes it perfect for Monte’s favourite self-entertainment trick. He loves tossing his round toys high up into the air himself, just to see if he can pull off the perfect mid-flight catch.
  • The $2.50 High: There is a unique satisfaction in watching Monte completely obsess over a bargain-bin find.

Current status: The weather outside is cooling down, but our indoor living room sessions are just warming up.
