Dog Friendly Co. Set: A Long-Term 3-Year Verdict

A profile shot of Monte, a mahogany-brown Miniature American Shepherd, wearing a green camouflage Dog Friendly Co harness with his name, 'MONTE,' printed on a custom side patch. He is leaning his front paws on a wooden railing and looking out into a sunny outdoor area.

Monte’s Verdict 🐾: [ THE CUT ]

We bought this Green Camo set online when Monte was still a small puppy. Amazingly, we still use the collar and the anti-shock bungee lead today!

Here is the raw truth on how the Dog Friendly Co. Dog Lover Pack handles long-term durability.

The harness was the real standout for us. It was easy to fit and fully adjustable. Because of this, it genuinely “grew” with Monte through his first three years. That is impressive considering how quickly puppies change shape!

While he has finally outgrown it, the harness itself remains in perfect condition. I also loved the customisation. Adding his name to the set made the whole pack feel special while we were still figuring out his “big dog” personality.

Beyond the harness, the true unsung hero of our daily setup is the collar, which we still use to this very day. If there is one piece of hardware that truly proves its worth over a three-year test, it is the main clasp.

Between daily walks, trail adventures, and routine grooming, this clip has easily been opened and closed a ‘million times’. Yet, despite that constant, heavy use, there is absolutely no evidence that the clasp has been compromised in any shape or form. It snaps shut just as securely today as it did on day one.

For an active dog owner, having total trust in a clip’s locking mechanism is everything. Knowing that the hardware remains completely robust and reliable, even after years of wear, tear, and exposure to the elements, gives me immense peace of mind whenever we head out.

  • Proven 3-Year Durability: The bungee lead still absorbs shock after years of walks.
  • Uncompromised Clip Security: The collar clasp remains completely robust, snapping shut just as securely as it did on day one.
  • Value: It outlasted three different growth spurts.
  • Personalised Style: Monte’s name patches are still clear and intact after three years.

This set offers fantastic value for money. Between the quality and the personalisation, it is a solid investment. If you are a new puppy owner, this set actually lives up to the promises.

Full Disclosure: Not sponsored. I bought the DogFriendly.co set while it was on sale during Monte’s puppyhood. I am sharing our experience because the gear has genuinely stood the test of time (and a growing dog!).

What was the very first piece of gear you bought for your dog?

Did it last through the “puppy chaos” like Monte’s camo set, or did you have to upgrade within the first six months? I would love to know which brands have survived your adventures!

Tell me your go-to harness or leash brands in the comments – I am always looking for durable gear to add to Monte’s wishlist!
