Monte, a brown Miniature American Shepherd, enthusiastically holds an uncute pink latex pig dog toy in his mouth while lying on a grey mat.

If you know Monte, you know he always makes a beeline for the Bunnings pet aisle, especially for their durable latex range.

We usually stick to rotating his usual favourites, but this latest one caught us completely by surprise.

To be honest, I walked past this little pink pig a few times before and never picked it up because it is anything but ‘cute’. But it turned out to be a massive wild card.

Instead of a standard squeak, this one actually oinks – a noise he has never heard before. I have literally never seen him go this crazy over a toy. He is completely hooked. He barely gives it up once he gets hold of it, and barks while turning in circles until he gets it back.

The Winter Wash-and-Wear Favourite

Like the rest of his Bunnings collection, it is made from that easy-clean latex. No soggy plush toys taking days to dry in the cold weather, just a quick rinse under the tap and it’s good to go.

True to form, we scored this one on sale too. Looks like it doesn’t need to be pretty to become his absolute favourite!
