The $8.29 Hostage Situation in the Pet Aisle

Bunnings Find: Happy Tails Multi-Squeaker Turtle Plush Toy.

We popped into Bunnings for lawn topper. We walked out with a new family member instead.

Monte: 1 | Lawn Maintenance: 0

The photo above captures the exact moment our lawn maintenance plan was officially abandoned. As you can see, Monte was not just mildly interested. He was conducting a full trolley inspection to make sure his new turtle was definitely coming home.

He has not let it go since we stepped out of the car.

Why this turtle is winning:

  • The Squeaker-to-Shell Ratio: It does not just have one squeaker. It features six. It is a total minefield of noise, and Monte is currently obsessed with navigating every single one.
  • Tactile Textures: Between the plush exterior and the crinkle filling, it is a sensory delight for a dog who loves a “crunchy” toy.
  • Budget-Friendly: It was $8.29. A small price to pay for a very happy dog

Current status: All lawn care duties have been completely abandoned. We are strictly on turtle-squeaking duty today.
